Kite was designed as a distinctive vacation rental intended to stand out in Tulum’s competitive short-term rental market. The client envisioned a sophisticated black-and-white palette accented with warm metallic details and African-inspired design elements.

To create a stronger sense of character, the project incorporated locally crafted pieces and a commissioned leopard mural that became a defining focal point within the apartment. This artistic feature brought personality, visual impact, and a memorable identity to the space.

Handcrafted textiles, artisanal details, and carefully selected materials helped balance contemporary design with cultural influences, creating an environment that feels both refined and welcoming.

The result is a unique and highly recognizable vacation rental designed to offer guests an immersive and design-driven experience while celebrating craftsmanship and individuality.
